An old adage says if you want something done, ask a busy person to do it. In the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, that person is U.S. District Judge Mitchell Goldberg.

The latest caseload numbers released by the Administrative Office for the U.S. Courts show Goldberg has the largest backlog of unresolved motions in the district, with 35 motions pending more than six months as of Sept. 30.

But the Eastern District's clerk of court, Kate Barkman, insists it has nothing to do with Goldberg's pace being slow.
