Michelle Henry started 2016 in the thick of preparations for the criminal trial of ex-Attorney General Kathleen Kane. By the end of the year, Henry was appointed to help lead Kane's former office.

Henry, now first deputy attorney general under Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro, spent more than two decades of her career in the Bucks County District Attorney's Office. In the summer of 2015, her office got a call from prosecutors in the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office as they prepared to bring criminal charges against Kane. Knowing the case would be taxing on their resources, the Montgomery County prosecutors looked to partner with its neighbor to the east.

“I've been at this for a long time, and over the years have tried a number of very important cases, and I've had great partners on those cases, but Michelle is the best that I've ever had,” Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said.
