Fragomen to Launch Unique Tech Development Center in Pittsburgh
The 50-person tech center will house all of the immigration firm's software development and cybersecurity functionality, serving as an innovation hub to develop technology for client-facing services.

International immigration services firm Fragomen has chosen Pittsburgh as the location for its newest facility, an immigration technology innovation lab.
The firm's chief information officer, Scott Angelo, will lead the lab. Angelo was the chief information officer at K&L Gates for more than five years, until he departed for Fragomen in January.
The office will include 40 to 50 professionals once it is fully staffed, Angelo said, but none of them will be lawyers. They will mostly consist of engineers and developers, as the firm looks to bring its software development and cybersecurity in-house. Angelo said Fragomen is looking to be a technology leader within the legal industry, beginning with this office.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.
