The Pennsylvania Senate has approved an amended appropriation to the Philadelphia Parking Authority, portioning $3 million to the agency.

On May 5, the Senate introduced a bill appropriating $4.7 million to the PPA from the Philadelphia Taxicab and Limousine Regulatory Fund. On June 27, the bill was
re-reported with an amendment allowing $3.62 million from the fund to the PPA.

The new sum was set to go into effect for the fiscal year that began July 1 and runs until June 30, 2018. According to a state Senate Appropriations Committee fiscal note regarding the bill, the revenues in the fund are obtained through assessments and fees to taxis, limos and dispatcher utility groups.
