A Pennsylvania senator and representative have signaled their desire to hold a state constitutional convention, 50 years after the last one.

Pennsylvania Sen. John H. Eichelberger Jr., R-Blair, and state Rep. Stephen Bloom, R-Cumberland, separately issued memos stating their intentions in drafting legislation that would allow Pennsylvania voters in this year's municipal election to vote and decide if the state would host a constitutional convention.

If a majority of voters voted in favor of the constitutional convention, according to the memos, a prep committee would commence immediately to make logistical arrangements.
