An indicted former Bucks County magisterial district judge and several other public officials are now facing additional charges in their federal money laundering case.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania announced bribery-related charges Tuesday afternoon in a superseding indictment against John I. Waltman, 59, an MDJ from Trevose from 2011 to 2016; Robert P. Hoopes, 70, of Doylestown, a lawyer and director of public safety for Lower Southampton Township; and Bernard T. Rafferty, 62, of Langhorne, a county deputy constable who heads a consulting firm.

In December, prosecutors alleged that the trio took $80,000 in fees from $400,000 in cash a confidential witness and undercover federal agents told them came from drug-trafficking, and health care and bank fraud schemes.
