The Commonwealth Court has upheld a ruling letting Montgomery County out of a case brought by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, in which the church sought $1 million of liability insurance from the county.

The three-judge panel affirmed a Montgomery County judge’s grant of summary judgment to the county. The church argued it was the duty of the county to provide insurance coverage for a slip and fall that occurred while the county was renting out St. Patrick’s Parish church as a polling place.
