The Judicial Conduct Board has sent a Centre County judge a letter of counsel, after finding that he ran afoul of judicial conduct provisions through his personal relationship with the county district attorney.

Judge Jonathan Grine received a public letter of counsel Tuesday, regarding his relationship with Centre County District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller. Grine cooperated with a JCB investigation into his conduct, the letter said, and apologized for his actions.

“The gravamen of these problems is that to a reasonable person, the emotional and personal nature of the relationship between you, a judge presiding over criminal matters, and DA Parks Miller … could lead to the charge that your impartiality could reasonably be questioned in criminal matters,” the letter said.
