The Duane Morris Women's Impact Network for Success honored two attorneys for their efforts to advance women in the legal profession.
Caroline M. Austin, a partner in the firm's Philadelphia office, received the Cheryl Bryson Leadership Award.
Meagen E. Leary, a partner in the firm's San Francisco office, received the Margery Reed Professional Excellence Award.
Austin and Leary received the awards at a ceremony at Duane Morris' annual firmwide meeting on Oct. 27.
Austin was chosen for her hands-on mentoring of associates.
Austin concentrates her practice in employment litigation, employment policy development, preventative counseling and training designed to avoid litigation, unionization and employee attrition.
Appearing before federal and state courts and administrative agencies, Austin represents clients in connection with a broad range of labor and employment matters, including age, race, gender, national origin and disability discrimination, sexual and racial harassment, restrictive covenants, breach of contract and wage-and-hour laws.

Barley Snyder hired Amanda Jabour Kowalski as the firm's 81st attorney and its sixth attorney hired in 2017.
Kowalski has practiced in Washington, D.C., since she graduated from George Washington University Law School in 2010.
Now she work as an associate in Barley Snyder's Lancaster office as part of its business practice group.
In the nation's capital, she had been an associate with a leading global law firm, as well as an in-house counsel with E*Trade Bank.

Partner Tom Warner of Sweet, Stevens, Katz & Williams co-presented a continuing legal education seminar titled “MCLE: The Nuts and Bolts of Disability Rights Laws in Public Schools,” to the Berks County Bar Association.
With co-presenter Jennifer M. Lukach Bradley, Warner provided an overview of the federal statutes that require public schools to provide special education students with a variety of supports and services in schools and which afford more protections to special education students who violate school rules.
The seminar also provided important guidance to attorneys who advise and/or represent clients with children in public schools who have special education needs.
Warner practices primarily in the representation of Pennsylvania school districts and entities in matters of special education at both the administrative and appellate levels.

Curtin & Heefner partner Bonnie Stein is set to share her jury trial thoughts and experiences in a presentation on “Jury Dynamics” to the current Temple LLM in Trial Advocacy class on Thursday.
Stein has volunteered her time to “give back” to the program by teaching in the two-week boot camps, serving as a judge, providing presentations and lectures as well as being a resource to many LLM students and graduates.
Stein is a partner and co-chair of the litigation section and of the property damage section.
Her areas of concentration include civil litigation with an emphasis in various aspects of insurance, including coverage and bad faith claims, first-party property and casualty claims.
