Zachary A. Sivertsen was elected to the Board of Governors of Valley Youth House.
Sivertsen's professional practice at Eastburn and Gray includes litigation, construction, real estate, land use and ­zoning and municipal law.
He represents private and municipal ­clients in these areas.
Sivertsen received his law degree from Temple University's Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia.

Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis' Denny Shupe, a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, was appointed by the ACTL's president to chair its Special Problems in the Administration of Justice Committee (U.S.).

Previously, he also chaired the firm's ­aviation group and its products liability group.

His practice concentrates on risk ­management and representation of international, national and regional companies in a wide variety of commercial, products liability and business litigation matters.

Howard J. Davis, managing partner of the Philadelphia law firm of Kleinbard LLC, was elected to serve as chair of the board of the Abramson Center for Jewish Life.

Davis has been involved with the Abramson Center previously serving as first vice chair of the board of trustees and co-chair of the strategic planning committee.

Davis, chair of Kleinbard's business and finance department, represents clients in a broad range of transactions and acts as ­outside general counsel to numerous ­middle market and startup companies.

McNees Wallace & Nurick chairman David M. Kleppinger is scheduled to be ­honored as the 2017 Eagle Scout Recognition Dinner Honoree during New Birth of Freedom Council, BSA's eighth annual Eagle Scout recognition dinner at 7 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey.

Kleppinger is the chairman of McNees Wallace and in that role serves as chair of the management committee.

He also serves as chair of the ­political action committee, and is an ex officio member of all other firm committees.

Cohen, Placitella & Roth attorneys Harry Roth and Jim Begley were part of the presenting panel during a Pennsylvania Bar Institute course for Pennsylvania-area lawyers titled “The Salvation Army Trial: $227 Million of Strategic Decisions From the Lawyers That Made Them.”
Roth and Begley were part of the team that for over six months tried the case arising from the collapse of a building ­during demolition that crushed the adjacent Salvation Army thrift store killing seven and injuring 12.

After a liability verdict, the case settled for $227 million.

Dilworth Paxson's James Eisenhower led a session of the Eisenhower Institute at Gettysburg College's Inside Politics program on Sunday.

Eisenhower discussed his career path and the steps to achieve success in the legal profession.

The Inside Politics program is the Eisenhower Institute's semester-long mentoring experience on campus at Gettysburg College and in Washington, D.C., designed for students from diverse academic disciplines to identify and understand the “story behind the story” of political parties, campaigns, the American presidency, Congress and public perceptions of contemporary public policy matters.
