Robert R. Watson Jr., a shareholder in Eastburn and Gray's construction law practice group and a member of the firm's management committee, presented a seminar titled, “Are You Up-to-Date on the Latest Issues in Pennsylvania Mechanics' Lien Law?” live during a webinar.

The seminar reviewed the latest issues in Pennsylvania Mechanics' Lien Law, ­including an overview of the new legislation that was passed in Pennsylvania that dramatically changes how owners, contractors and subcontractors approach their rights under the Mechanics' Lien Law.

With nearly 20 years of experience ­representing clients from all aspects of the construction industry, Watson is a frequent lecturer on construction law-related topics.

In 2016, he was selected to work with Pennsylvania officials to launch the Pennsylvania State Construction Notices Directory website, which provides some ­additional protections under the Mechanics' Lien Law.

Cliff Rieders was a speaker in both Pittsburgh and Philadelphia in connection with the 2017 annual medical malpractice seminar presented by the Pennsylvania Association for Justice.
Rieders yearly covers the challenging topic of “case law update,” which involves every area of the law pertaining to medical liability cases.

Rieders covers subjects such as discovery, subrogation, conduct of depositions, statute of limitations, informed consent and a myriad other daunting questions.

Hawke McKeon & Sniscak partner and co-founder of Pennsylvania Appellate Advocate Dennis Whitaker joined the Pennsylvania Bar Institute for its CLE program, “Legislative Update: For Drafters and Legislative Counsel.”

Whitaker was joined by Commonwealth Court Judge P. Kevin Brobson and by Daniel Schuckers.

The panel discussed judicial ­deference to agency statutory interpretation in Pennsylvania and in the federal courts as well as the development of Pennsylvania administrative agency appeals.

At the firm, Whitaker combines expertise in administrative law with extensive ­litigation, trial and appellate experience.

He currently focuses on government appellate and original jurisdiction practice in Pennsylvania and in selected federal courts, using his knowledge of government and the courts to offer sound advice, ­creative ­solutions and effective strategies.

Sabalbaro will be based in the firm's main office in Philadelphia.

Sabalbaro has a commercial litigation practice where he represents clients in various corporate disputes.

He has litigated a range of commercial matters, including defending a Fortune 500 company in a federal antitrust suit.

Prior to joining Conrad O'Brien, Sabalbaro was an associate at a ­full-service, regional law firm where he had a litigation and real estate practice.

Clark Hill added Veronica Saltz Turner to the firm as a member.

In her nearly 30-year career, Turner has tried over 100 cases in state and federal courts in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Turner also has argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and in the state appellate courts for Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

She has represented clients in industries including aviation, hospitality, transportation and insurance in matters involving products liability, employment ­discrimination, trademark infringement, Employee Retirement Income Security Act and life, health and disability. •
