A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit filed by a religious anti-abortion group claiming a Pittsburgh ordinance creating a 15-foot buffer between protesters and health care centers— Planned Parenthood locations—was overbearing and limited free speech.

U.S. District Judge Cathy Bissoon of the Western District of Pennsylvania granted the City of Pittsburgh's motion for summary judgment. Nikki Bruni and other adherents of the “Forty Days of Life,” provide “sidewalk counseling” in front of Planned Parenthood, attempting to talk women out of having abortions.

“The undisputed evidence in this case demonstrates that the Ordinance places only a minimal burden on Plaintiffs' First Amendment free speech rights,” Bissoon wrote in her opinion.
