Members of Cozen O'Connor's Philadelphia office participated in the Law Enforcement Torch Run benefiting the Special Olympics.
The Torch Run for the Unified Fall Festival was 18 segments totaling 26 miles. The run began at Citizens Bank Park, ran through South Philadelphia and downtown Center City to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and then out to Martin Luther King Drive through Bala Cynwyd to Villanova University and the annual Fall Festival.
Cozen O'Connor runners, led by the Philadelphia Police Department and Special Olympics Pennsylvania athletes, completed segment 11 through Center City.

On Dec. 6, Faye Riva Cohen of the Law Office of Faye Riva Cohen is set to lead a continuing legal education seminar hosted by the National Business Institute in Philadelphia on “Human Resource Law: What You Need to Know Now.”
Cohen is the president of the Law Office of Faye Riva Cohen and has practiced law in Pennsylvania since 1974.
She represents clients before local, state and federal administrative agencies and she litigates in local, state and federal courts.
She has experience in labor, employment, civil rights and other areas of the law.

On Nov. 4, Conrad O'Brien's Patricia Hamill spoke at the FACE (Families Advocating for Campus Equality) 2017 fall meet-and-greet in Dallas.
She gave presentations on “The Best Possible Outcome: Settlement Agreements in the Title IX Context” and “The Adviser's Wish List: Best Practices for Fairer Title IX Proceedings,” which she co-presented with Andrew Miltenberg.
Hamill has extensive years of experience representing clients spanning a breadth of matters, including complex commercial litigation, Title IX litigation, receiverships, insurance, securities, consumer class actions, government investigations and e-rate compliance.
Her clients are in a wide range of industries, including technology, insurance and securities.

Kimberly Rice, president/chief strategist of KLA Marketing Associates and author of “Rainmaker Roadmap: A Step-by-Step Guide to Building a Prosperous Business” presented a program titled “Create the Career of Your Dreams by Charting Your Own Course,” to the Philadelphia Bar Association's Women in Profession.
Rice led the interactive session, which focused on how to develop a personal brand to stand out in the competitive legal services landscape.
She led breakout sessions that focused on the relationship-building imperative of attracting new clients and how to confidently use effective communication techniques to take control of one's career, whether in private, public or governmental law practice.

Hawke McKeon & Sniscak partner and co-founder of Pennsylvania Appellate Advocate Dennis Whitaker joined the Pennsylvania Bar Institute for its CLE program, “Legislative Update: For Drafters and Legislative Counsel.”
Whitaker was joined by Commonwealth Court Judge P. Kevin Brobson and by Daniel Schuckers.
The panel discussed judicial deference to agency statutory interpretation in Pennsylvania and in the federal courts as well as the development of Pennsylvania administrative agency appeals.
At the firm, Whitaker combines expertise in administrative law with extensive litigation, trial and appellate experience.
He currently focuses on government appellate and original jurisdiction practice in Pennsylvania and in selected federal courts, using his knowledge of government and the courts to offer advice, solutions and strategies. •
