Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young raised more than $20,000 for the fight against diabetes in the Step Out Walk and 5K run in Philadelphia.
The event, which attracted nearly 1,000 walkers and runners, raised funds for diabetes research, education and advocacy programs. Stradley Ronon was the top overall company team in contributing to find the cure for diabetes.
Speakers
Jessica Mazzeo and Emily Griesing presented, “R-E-S-P-E-C-T: Getting Buy-In and Developing Successful Marketing Partnerships With Attorneys” at the Legal Marketing Association's Northeast regional conference.
Mazzeo is a co-founder of Griesing Law and is the firm's chief operating officer.
She focuses on overseeing and implementing all of the firm's business operations while establishing policies that promote and retain the firm's culture and strategic vision.
Griesing is the marketing manager of the firm.
Griesing is responsible for promoting the capabilities of the firm and the team of attorneys through various marketing and business development efforts.

McNees Wallace & Nurick attorney Erik Hume presented at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute's Real Estate Institute at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.
His seminar, “When 10 Years Isn't Enough: Structuring and Managing Long-Term Condominium and Planned Community Projects,” was selected as one of six advanced courses for the institute.
In its 21st year, the Real Estate Institute provides an opportunity to catch up on the year's most significant case law, current legislation, practice fundamentals, trends and strategies as well as learning new ideas and approaches to handling the tough issues in real estate practice as well as discuss problems and concerns with old friends and new colleagues.
Hume is a member of the firm's real estate group.
In his practice, Hume advises clients through all aspects of real estate transactions and development.
He represents landowners and developers in the sale, acquisition, leasing, financing and development of commercial and residential real estate.
His practice also includes the creation, development and administration of commercial and residential condominiums and planned communities.
Elected and Appointed
Duane Morris partner Paul Josephson was named senior adviser to Transition2018, the transition committee of New Jersey Gov.-elect Philip D. Murphy, and as transition counsel.
Josephson most recently served the governor-elect as counsel to his campaign.
Josephson will assist transition staff in a review of more than 50 New Jersey independent authorities.
A litigation and regulatory partner in Duane Morris' trial practice group, Josephson previously served as chief counsel to the New Jersey governor and as director of the Division of Law for the New Jersey Attorney General's Office, where he oversaw the state's civil legal affairs.
He also served as chief of authorities for the governor, overseeing the 50 bi-state and state authorities.
Honored
Lynn A. Marks received the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania's Distinguished Pro Bono Service Award from the First Judicial District for leading the Juror Participation Initiative, a blue-ribbon panel formed to recommend ways for the court to increase the number of potential jurors who respond to their jury duty summons.
The Juror Participation Initiative Committee members were also recognized for their participation, hard work and commitment to the project.

Driscoll from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr have stepped in to represent Symbotic Inc., an A.I.-enabled technology platform that focuses on increasing supply chain efficiency, and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
