John “Jack” R. Warner.

Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin name partner John “Jack” R. Warner died on Dec. 11 at the age of 87.

Warner graduated from Drexel University, served two years active duty in the U.S. Army and in 1960 graduated from Temple University Law School.

He started working with Francis E. Marshall, first at Davis, Crumlish and Marshall and then at The Law Offices of Francis E. Marshall, according to a release.

In 1966, The Law Offices of Francis E. Marshall became Marshall, Dennehey & Warner before becoming Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin in 1980. Warner spent his entire career at Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin, and while he retired from the firm in 2008, he continued to visit the King of Prussia office regularly to stay in touch with the firm, a
release said.

Warner defended cases in a variety of disciplines including general casualty, products liability, construction, medical malpractice and professional liability. Over the last 20 years of his career, Warner concentrated more and more of his practice in the defense of medical malpractice matters, representing both doctors and hospitals.

Warner was active in the Montgomery Bar Association and served as president of its trial lawyers section in 1984. In 2004, the trial lawyers section presented Warner with the James P. Fox Trial Lawyer of the Year Award for “Professionalism in the Art of Trial Advocacy.” In 2010, he was presented with an award from the Montgomery Bar Association for being a member of the bar for 50 years.

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Sue; three children; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. •
