Thomas, Thomas & Hafer added John K. Jusu as a new attorney to the firm.
Jusu is an associate in the firm's Harrisburg office.
He will concentrate his practice in the area of general liability.
Prior to joining the firm, Jusu worked as a litigation specialist for Nationwide Insurance, doing analytical reasoning and persuasive arguments to achieve resolution without the need for further litigation while conducting legal research to provide accurate responses to inquiries.
Jusu is also a certified claims investigator, investigating claims and follow up actions while evaluating property damage claims for legitimacy relative to terms of coverage and property value.
Jusu received his law degree from Widener University Commonwealth Law School.

Cohen & Grigsby promoted two attorneys to directors, effective Jan. 1, 2018.
Ingrid A. Bohme focuses her practice on commercial disputes, providing pre-litigation counseling and preparing clients for state and federal court and alternative dispute resolution.
Bohme has represented clients in a wide variety of matters, including trade secret, unfair competition and noncompetition covenant disputes, complex commercial disputes, eminent domain law proceedings, procurement law litigation, stock and asset purchase agreement disputes and minority shareholder oppression claims.
Melissa L. Dougherty focuses her practice in estate planning, estate and trust administration and the representation of corporate fiduciaries.
Her practice emphasizes wealth preservation and business succession planning for both U.S. citizen and non-U.S. citizen high net worth individuals, as well as gift, tax and charitable planning.

Tucker Arensberg elected Michael C. Mazack as a shareholder of the firm.
Mazack's practice is focused primarily in the areas of bankruptcy, representing creditors in insolvency and workout agreements, commercial collections, tax collections and foreclosures, and representing commercial landlords in evictions, lease negotiations and other real estate transactions.
He also assists his clients in business formations, acquisitions and financings.
Mazack is a certified by the Pittsburgh chapter of SCORE as an adviser for startup companies and small businesses.
Mazack received his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
Speakers
Chartwell Law attorney Matthew B. Esslinger presented “Reaching Reasonable Resolutions in the Absence of Impairment Rating Caps,” at the Philadelphia Bar Association.
The presentation focused on methods that exist to bring both parties to the settlement table with the absence of the impairment rating process.
Esslinger focuses his practice on the defense of workers' compensation matters on behalf of insurance carriers, self-insured entities and third-party administrators.
He is based in the firm's Harrisburg office.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
