Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr elected Michael C. Barnes and Karilynn Bayus to the firm's partnership, effective Jan. 1.
Barnes is a member of the business and finance department in the Philadelphia office.
Barnes advises clients on finance matters of states, municipalities, industrial development authorities, school districts and nonprofit entities.
Bayus is a member of the business and finance department and health care practice.
Bayus represents and counsels physician groups, physicians, hospitals, universities, ancillary service providers, medical device manufacturers, ambulatory surgical centers and other health care-related businesses in transactional, regulatory and administrative matters.

McNees Wallace & Nurick attorney Stephen Gierasch is set to succeed Brad Gunnison as co-chair of the corporate and tax group and will be collaborating with Tim Finnerty to lead the practice group.
Gierasch is a mergers and acquisitions attorney and legal adviser to businesses and executives throughout Pennsylvania and beyond.
He often serves as primary outside general counsel to those companies with limited or no in-house legal capabilities.
In doing so, Gierasch works with businesses to set legal strategy for their arrangements involving customers, vendors, strategic partners, employees and owners.

Events
The law firm of Reger Rizzo & Darnall partnered with two local nonprofit organizations to provide children with gifts this holiday season.
The attorneys and staff of Reger Rizzo's Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware offices donated more than 150 toys, games, gift cards and articles of clothing to Northern Children's Services and the Support Center for Child Advocates in support of their annual holiday toy drives.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
