The Bucks County Bar Association and the Bucks County Herald has honored Curtin & Heefner with an award as the “Most Family Friendly Law Firm.” Curtin & Heefner managing partner Frank Guarrieri accepted the award on behalf of the firm.

Elected and Appointed

Burns White promoted five attorneys to member in its Pittsburgh office.

Laura E. Benson joined Burns White as an associate in 2013 and assists clients in a wide range of industries—providing counsel in complex and commercial litigation, white-collar defense, corporate compliance and government investigations.

In 2008, Patrick M. Horvat joined Burns White's Pittsburgh office and primarily concentrates his practice in transportation law, and in matters relating to products liability, general litigation and business matters.

Attorney Matthew A. Meyers focuses his practice in the areas of insurance litigation, insurance coverage and extracontractual litigation, commercial litigation and trucking law.

For more than 20 years, Ralph M. Monico has represented clients in a wide range of commercial and civil litigation matters, with a focus on professional liability defense and licensure.

Dorothy C. Wolbert joined Burns White as an associate in 2015, and is the co-chair of the firm's family law practice where she manages, among other issues, complex divorce, custody and support matters, and protection from abuse cases.

McNees Wallace & Nurick attorney Alexandra Ableitner was appointed to the board of directors for the PinnacleHealth Auxiliary as a board member and parliamentarian.

Ableitner's practice focuses on contracts and regulatory guidance.

She works with companies to reach their goals by managing governance documents, assisting with mergers and acquisitions, and staying up-to-date on ever-changing health care and food law regulations.

Prior to joining the firm, Ableitner worked in-house for Penn National Insurance and interned for the international legal department of Wal-Mart Stores Inc., as well as Tyson Foods Inc.

Additions

Barley Snyder added Michael S. Katz as an of counsel attorney in its litigation practice group.
Katz comes to Barley Snyder with two decades of litigation experience at The Beasley Firm and Lopez McHugh.

Katz will focus his practice on commercial and fiduciary litigation working primarily in Barley Snyder's York office.

The firm now stands at 81 attorneys, with more set to join the firm in early 2018.

Michael V. Di Girolamo joined Timoney Knox in the Fort Washington-based law firm.

Di Girolamo, an associate with the firm, concentrates his practice in the areas of business and corporate law, intellectual property and trusts and estates.

He assists clients in forming corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, buying and selling businesses, employment-related matters, contract preparation and negotiation and intellectual property, as well as civil and commercial litigation in those areas.
