Scott Polsky joined Offit Kurman's business law and transactions practice group in the Philadelphia office.

Polsky is a transactional attorney and business adviser who has over 18 years of legal experience counseling businesses, individuals and families regarding all aspects of general business and corporate matters, federal, state and local tax law and planning, contracts, intellectual property issues, website legal issues, employment issues and business sales and succession.

With an LL.M in taxation, Polsky works to resolve complex tax issues as well as advising clients regarding estate planning opportunities, including tax-efficient business succession planning and transfers of family-owned businesses to the next generation.

He also represents several entertainment industry clients such as festivals, music labels, writers, film production companies, musicians and other artists.

Goldberg Segalla added partners Robert J. Hafner and Elizabeth A. Weill to the firm's products liability and toxic tort practice groups in Philadelphia.

Hafner and Weill were previously with Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott.

Hafner's experience includes defending manufacturers of consumer electronics, medical devices, agricultural and industrial equipment, and medium to heavy-duty trucks and tractors.

Hafner earned his law degree at Villanova University School of Law and from 1985–88, he served as law clerk for U.S. District Judge E. Mac Troutman of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Weill counsels and defends a wide range of national and international companies involved in products liability, toxic tort, commercial and other complex litigation.

Her experience also includes mass torts and class actions and she also counsels clients on insurance coverage issues, litigation preparedness, risk management, data management and e-discovery.

Elected and Appointed

White and Williams promoted Marc Penchansky, Tanya Salgado, Ben Staherski and Jared Levy to counsel.

Penchansky is an appellate lawyer who's experience includes jurisdictional challenges, interlocutory appeals and expedited appeals that often involve complex and novel issues.

Salgado's practice includes labor and employment law, education law and commercial litigation.

Staherski is counsel in the subrogation department and practices exclusively in the field of large loss property subrogation.

At White and Williams, Levy has experience litigating, mediating and arbitrating complex civil matters with a particular focus on commercial and insurance litigation.

The nonprofit Philadelphia Police Foundation named its co-chairpersons for its second annual Night for Blue, which is set to honor one of its founders, Patrick J. O'Connor, vice chairman of Cozen O'Connor and chairman of Temple University's board of trustees, and will benefit the mission of the foundation to fund unbudgeted programs, equipment and training for the men and women of the Philadelphia Police Department.

The event is scheduled on April 17 at 5:30 p.m. at the Ballroom at the Ben on 834 Chestnut St. in Philadelphia.

The co-chairs for Night for Blue are: Fletcher Cox, defensive lineman for the Philadelphia Eagles; Michael Heller, CEO and president of Cozen O'Connor; William T. Bergman, vice president for public affairs at Temple University and a PPF board member; Daniel H. Polett, Lexus of Chester Springs president, CEO and dealer principal; Ann Thornton Field, Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani partner; and SugarHouse general manager Casino Wendy Hamilton.
