Volpe and Koenig added Dae-Gunn Jei to the firm.

Jei is based out of the firm's headquarters in Philadelphia.

Jei focuses his practice on patent prosecution, procurement and litigation in the electrical and mechanical arts.

Before joining Volpe and Koenig he was an associate at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.

He began his patent career at Samsung Electronics in Korea.

Speakers

Antheil Maslow & MacMinn partners William MacMinn and Thomas Donnelly are scheduled to present a seminar on piercing the corporate veil in Pennsylvania to the civil litigation section of the Bucks County Bar Association at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 14 at the Bucks County Bar Association.

The seminar will focus on recent decisions relating to traditional common law piercing of the corporate veil and individual liability in a corporate setting as well as Antheil Maslow's experience with developing case law identifying a shift in fiduciary obligations of corporate officers and directors upon insolvency, voidable transfers and de facto mergers.

MacMinn concentrates his practice in the area of litigation, including commercial litigation, personal injury, products liability, employment litigation, estate litigation and real estate.

Donnelly's practice focuses primarily on commercial litigation and transactions and his clients include individuals and businesses local to the Philadelphia area, as well as national corporations.

Elected and Appointed

Martin Law associate Elisa Advani was appointed to serve a one-year term as secretary for the Hispanic Bar Association of Pennsylvania.

Advani is an associate practicing workers' compensation.

She previously worked at a firm handling Social Security disability cases nationwide.

Advani participates with Philadelphia Volunteers for the indigent program, as a pro bono attorney and Spanish interpreter.

She received her law degree from Widener University Delaware Law School.

Eric Rayz of Kalikhman & Rayz was elected to the legal committee of the International Sambo Federation.

He has broad experience in handling matters in federal and state courts and is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New York, before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Judicial Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Rayz served a two-year term as a staff attorney for Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Sandra Schultz Newman and has co-authored an article titled “Capital Sentencing: The Effect of Adding Aggravators to Death Penalty Statutes in Pennsylvania” that appeared in the University of Pittsburgh Law Review.
