Elected and Appointed

James W. Cushing of the Law Office of Faye Riva Cohen was named co-chair of the Case Law Committee of the family law section of the Philadelphia Bar Association.

Cushing is an associate at the firm and is a research attorney for Legal Research Inc.

He earned a law degree from Temple University's Beasley School of Law in 2002.

He has been a practicing attorney since 2002, passed the bar in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey and is currently licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.

Hill Wallack promoted Ozge Otarsi-McCue and Cassi Martin to counsel to the firm.

Otarsi-McCue is in the Princeton, New Jersey, office and Martin is in the Yardley office.

Otarsi-McCue is a member of the banking and financial services, real estate and creditors' rights/bankruptcy practice groups.

Otarsi-McCue has specialized knowledge in complex financial transactions and focuses her practice in representing lending institutions and borrowers in connection with commercial, construction and purchase money financings, including those related to apartment buildings, retail establishments, shopping centers and mixed-use commercial developments.

Martin is a member of the workers' compensation and intellectual property practice groups.

Martin concentrates her practice to the defense of employers, self-insureds and insurance companies against workers' compensation claims.

Speakers

A. Nicole Stover and Elizabeth A. Kuschel were speakers at the Human Resources Council sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey on Jan. 30.

Stover and Kuschel's presentation, “Me Too or Not Us: Revisiting Sexual Harassment and Response,” addressed key action items for human resources professionals in the wake of current headlines and discussed existing and proposed laws impacting sexual harassment investigation and response.

Stover focuses her practice on employment with a concentration on the representation of employers and key executives.

Kuschel concentrates her practice on representing clients in civil litigation matters, including employment disputes involving discrimination, harassment and wage-and-hour claims.

Additions

Jordan L. Strokovsky joined McEldrew Young, a Philadelphia firm that represents the seriously injured and whistleblowers.

With trial and appellate experience, Strokovsky's areas of practice include medical malpractice, trucking accidents, products liability, sexual abuse and other personal injury matters.

Strokovsky graduated from Widener University Delaware Law School and is expected to receive his LL.M. in trial advocacy from Temple University's Beasley School of Law this May.

Strokovsky has represented clients pro bono through the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Prisoner Civil Rights Panel, Support Center for Child Advocates and Philadelphia VIP.

Tucker Arensberg added Brett M. Woodburn to the firm as a shareholder in its Harrisburg office.

Woodburn is a shareholder in the corporate group and focuses his practice on real estate law.

Additionally he assists clients in the areas of professional licensing law, employment law and general corporate matters.

Woodburn serves as general counsel to Keystone Human Services Inc. and was associate general counsel to the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors for more than 15 years.
