Ex-Burleson Lawyer Arrested for Sex With Dog in Pittsburgh
Environmental lawyer Ivan DeVoren faces charges for sex with an animal and drug possession.

A Pittsburgh environmental lawyer is facing criminal charges for allegedly having sex with a dog, as well as drug charges.
Ivan DeVoren, a solo practitioner at DeVoren Law, faces 10 counts of aggravated cruelty to animals and 10 counts of sexual intercourse with an animal, as well as drug charges, after a neighbor heard strange noises coming from his apartment and called police earlier this month.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and KDKA-TV first reported the charges. According to the Post-Gazette, police obtained a search warrant on Feb. 1 and found crack cocaine and other paraphernalia.
DeVoren's preliminary hearing has been scheduled for March 1. He did not return a call seeking comment.
According to news reports, the dog, a Labrador retriever named Snoopy, showed signs of abuse and is being kept at a veterinarian's office.
DeVoren was a partner at Burleson LLP in Pittsburgh from 2010 until 2013, according to his LinkedIn profile. The Houston-based energy law firm shut down in 2015. Before joining Burleson, DeVoren chaired the environmental group at Philadelphia firm Kleinbard Bell & Brecker.
In his practice, DeVoren represents energy companies and other industrial and commercial clients in regulatory matters. He also provides strategic planning in mergers and acquisitions, financing and capital raising efforts.
As of Monday morning, his website, devorenlaw.com, was not accessible.
