Michael J. Shavel was awarded the Outstanding Eagle Scout Award upon nomination by the Washington Crossing Council, Boy Scouts of America.
Shavel is a partner of Hill Wallack.
He is a member of the banking and financial services and creditors' rights/bankruptcy practice groups.
Shavel has over 22 years of experience exclusively practicing in the lending, banking and creditors' rights field.
He has closed numerous complex commercial finance transactions, including acquisition financing, asset-based financing and health care receivable financing.

McNees Wallace & Nurick attorney Stephanie Carfley was elected to the board of directors of Hospice & Community Care.
Carfley has previously served on the board of directors of Hospice of Lancaster County from 2004 through 2012, serving on the executive committee from 2005 through 2012 and as treasurer for several years.
She is a member of the firm's litigation, injunction, oil and natural gas, and pipeline and oil/gas infrastructure practice groups, where she focuses on business and commercial litigation and dispute resolution in areas such as employment, business torts, oil and gas, real estate, health care, insurance and other civil litigation.

On the executive committee are: John M. Hartzell Jr., Samuel H. Simon, Henry M. Sneath and Alex W. Thomson.
Officers of the firm will include Thomson, who will serve as president; Hartzell as treasurer; and Heidi Rai Stewart as secretary.
Hartzell concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning and estate and trust administration, and he chairs the firm's estates and trusts practice.

Attorney Constance K. Nelson of Gross McGinley was appointed to the development committee for the Third Street Alliance for Women and Families in Northampton County as well as a member of the board of directors for the Bar Association of Lehigh County.
The Third Street Alliance for Women and Families provides a multitude of programs to Northampton County including shelter services to homeless women and families, adult day care services, an early learning center for children and health classes.
Nelson represents local families in divorce and family law matters as well as estate planning and administration.
She is a litigator with experience in white-collar crime matters and is a member of the firm's criminal law group.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
