Hyland Levin partner Lauren A. Beetle was selected as the 2018 Outstanding Woman of the Year in the category of law for Burlington County, New Jersey.
Beetle concentrates her practice in the areas of real estate, liquor license regulation and business law.
She also represents buyers and sellers in business asset and equity transactions, counsels clients on formation, organizational structure and legal governance matters and handles all forms of business-related transactional work, particularly in the food manufacturing industry.
Beetle also assists national restaurant chains, hotels and local business owners in liquor license transactions and regulatory compliance matters in New Jersey.

Nancy Carman, an elder care coordinator in the estate planning and elder care law firm Fendrick & Morgan presented a tutorial on “The Economics of Aging” at a program hosted by ESPCSNJ.
Carman provided a broad range of statistics that underscore the growth of services now available to the aging population, as well as the reasons for the changing landscape
She noted, for example, that the average life expectancy in the United States has gone from 35 years in 1776 to 78.7 in 2105, with Hawaii being the state with the highest life expectancy: 78 for men and 84.7 for women.
Carman, a trained gerontologist and a certified geriatric care manager, has worked for over 30 years in the field of aging, and now counsels Fendrick & Morgan's elder clients with their long-term care planning needs.

Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young attorneys Jamie M. Gershkow and Miranda Sturgis participated in the annual Women in ETFs “Ring the Bell for Gender Equality” event, a global collaboration across 65 stock exchanges around the world in celebration of International Women's Day.
The Philadelphia chapter event was held at the Liberty Bell on March 8.
The event focused on the current landscape of women in finance and how women can best position themselves to press for progress. Gershkow and Sturgis are members of the leadership board of the Philadelphia chapter of Women in ETFs.

Martin Law partner Joseph Huttemann is a scheduled speaker at the Pennsylvania Bureau of Workers' Compensation's 17th annual Workers' Compensation Conference in June.
Huttemann is set to present “The Gig Economy—Workers' Compensation and Liability Consideration Session,” which will focus on trends in employment status and safety as the country heads more towards a “gig economy.”
Huttemann has concentrated his practice in the area of workers' compensation litigation since 1992.
Huttemann is the current chairman of the workers' compensation section of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice.
Prior to joining the firm, Huttemann defended workers' compensation claims for insurance carriers and employers.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
