The terms of a school district employee's separation or settlement should always be publicly available, said a state representative.

Barring a court order, all school district employees should be required to disclose the terms of their separation or settlement, said Pennsylvania Rep. Anthony DeLuca, D-Allegheny, in a memo. DeLuca said he would introduce legislation that would prohibit nondisclosures for school district staff terminations or settlements unless the nondisclosure is court-ordered.

DeLuca said the cash amounts, benefits, terms of the separation and any other consideration should be known by the public when a school district staff member reaches a settlement or separation agreement.
