The Legal is proud to announce the winners in four new categories of awards introduced this year—Law Firm Innovators, Best Law Firm Mentors, Power Players and Unsung Heroes— which were geared exclusively toward firms with fewer than 200 lawyers.
For the Best Law Firm Mentors, we looked for a variety of attributes from attorneys.
More and more young lawyers are being drawn to small and midsize firms for the opportunity to get hands-on legal training. Best Mentors honors those more senior attorneys who have taken it upon themselves to prepare the next generation of legal talent. We are looking for a sage here, someone who has provided valuable knowledge to younger attorneys, paving the way for advancement and stellar contributions to the industry.
The winners will be featured in the Professional Excellence supplement slated to be published on June 12.
The 2018 Best Law Firm Mentors are:
- Ernest Koschineg, Cipriani & Werner
- Joseph Manko, Manko Gold Katcher & Fox
- Patrice A. Toland, Post & Schell
- Dorothy C. Wolbert, Burns White
For the Best Law Firm Innovators Award we sought attorneys or whole firms that are on the cutting edge of the profession. Boiled down to its essence, this award looks to recognize those lawyers, legal professionals and law firms who think outside the box and have demonstrated an ability to distinguish their brands in a crowded market.
The 2018 Law Firm Innovator awards go to:
- Berger & Montague (whole firm)
- Burns White (whole firm)
- Kevin Dooley Kent, Conrad O'Brien
For Unsung Heroes, we searched for attorneys who have gone unnoticed for, or were instrumental behind the scenes of, particularly important work.
The 2018 Unsung Hero award goes to:
- Gaetano Piccirilli, Klehr Harrison Harvey Branzburg
For the Power Player award, we looked attorneys who, through their advocacy, made a significant impact in 2017 on public policy, legislation or jurisprudence in Pennsylvania.
The 2018 Power Player award winner is:
- Patricia Hamill, Conrad O'Brien
The awards dinner will be held at the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia on June 27. Contact Andre Sutton at [email protected] or 757-721-9020 for more information.
