Thomas, Thomas & Hafer added Sean B. Epstein as a new attorney to its firm.
He focuses his practice in the area of workers' compensation law.
Prior to joining Thomas, Thomas & Hafer, Epstein was a partner at a commercial litigation law firm and was involved with the firm's risk management and workers' compensation practice group.
He concentrated his work in the areas of employers' liability, litigation oversight and post-loss risk management of claims for both insurance carriers and industries.
Epstein has specialized expertise in the federal Black Lung Benefits Act, as well as experience in representing defendants in all forms of occupational disease and toxic tort claims.

Megan C. Gallagher joined Caphart Scatchard in the firm's workers' compensation department in its Mount Laurel, New Jersey, office.
Gallagher represents insurance carriers and employers in the defense of workers' compensation claims at all stages of litigation.
She earned her law degree from Fordham University School of Law and passed the bar in New Jersey and New York.

Michael G. Trachtman joined Wisler Pearlstine in its newly created Wisler Business and Entrepreneurship Center.
Two of his partners from his previous firm, Powell Trachtman, will join him as partners in Wisler Pearlstine: David M. Burkholder and Mary J. Pedersen.
Trachtman has decades of experience representing businesses in the myriad issues that affect their operations, growth and profitability.

Chartwell Law attorney Stephen J. Fireoved moderated, “Opioid Crisis: A Scourge That Grips the Nation,” at the Capital Area Insurance Professionals spring educational seminar.
The interdisciplinary panel discussed the opioid crisis from a variety of perspectives, including medical, rehabilitation, insurance and criminal justice, with a focus on proposed solutions.
Fireoved focuses his practice on workers' compensation, labor and employment law, and municipal and zoning law.
He has experience working with carriers and self-insured employers and was formerly a workers' compensation and human resource manager for a Fortune 500 company.

McNees Wallace & Nurick paralegal Beth Bell led a charitable effort for the Humane Society of Harrisburg as vice president of the Central Pennsylvania Paralegal Association.
Each month the association has a Lunch N' Learn for its members and it chose to collect items for HSHA at its April meeting.
Bell, a Pennsylvania certified paralegal, assists the corporate and tax and state and local tax practice groups.
She offers general support, helps to manage cases and oversees document productions.
She has been with McNees Wallace since 2012.

The Public Interest Law Center elected Jacqueline Robinson of Chubb to its board of directors.
The Public Interest Law Center is a nonprofit law firm that advances the civil, social and economic rights of communities in the Philadelphia region facing discrimination, inequality and poverty.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
