Elected and Appointed
Maureen Austin, office administrator for Blank Rome's Philadelphia and Wilmington, Delaware, offices, was elected president of the Association of Legal Administrators for the Philadelphia chapter for a two-year term.
She was inducted at a special ceremony event held on April 18 at The Logan Hotel.
A member since 2006, Austin has held numerous positions with ALA Philly, including section chair of membership, assistant vice president of business partner relations and president-elect.

Lee Ann Rhodes joined Thomas, Thomas & Hafer as an associate in the Pittsburgh office.
She focuses her practice in the area of workers' compensation law.
Prior to joining Thomas, Thomas & Hafer, Rhodes was a senior associate at a commercial litigation law firm and was a member of the firm's risk management and workers' compensation practice group.
Her responsibilities included researching and writing about complex legal issues.
Rhodes prepared findings to be presented to the workers' compensation judges and briefs submitted to the Workers' Compensation Appeal Board on behalf of employers.
She is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and is a member of the Pennsylvania and Allegheny County bar associations.

Jessica L. Rodio joined Caphart Scatchard in the firm's workers' compensation department in its Mount Laurel, New Jersey, office.
Rodio received her law degree from Rutgers Law School in Camden, New Jersey.
Upon law school graduation, she worked as a law clerk to New Jersey Superior Court Judge Nelson C. Johnson in Atlantic County.
She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young financial services litigation practice group chair Andrew K. Stutzman served as a moderator and speaker at Mortgage Bankers Association's Legal Issues and Regulatory Compliance Conference on April 29 in Los Angeles.
Stutzman moderated the eight subject matter panels of the litigation forum.
He also opened with the forum “The Litigation Landscape,” which discussed the present litigation trends facing the mortgage banking industry.
Stutzman is a Philadelphia trial lawyer who founded the financial services litigation practice at Stradley Ronon.
He resolves complex disputes through litigation, especially finance-related matters.
Stutzman has tried civil cases of diverse subject matters in many state, federal and ADR courts throughout his career and assisted in the defense of government investigations and criminal proceedings.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
