Elected and Appointed
James T. Davis, a founding partner of the law firm Davis & Davis, which maintains offices in Uniontown and Brownsville, began a three-year term on the Pennsylvania Bar Association board of governors.
He is one of 12 zone governors who serve on the PBA board, Davis will represent Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland County lawyers.
Davis is a past president of the Fayette County Bar Association and the SWPA Trial Lawyers Association.
He is a National Board of Trial Advocacy-certified civil trial advocate and criminal trial advocate.

The Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel is scheduled to hold its annual Meeting & Golf Outing beginning at 8:30 a.m. on June 5 at the Union League Golf Club at Torresdale.
The meeting offers one ethics credit and two substantive CLE credits.

On April 30 The Lawyers' Club of Philadelphia presented a CLE focused on “The Impaired Lawyer” featuring panelists: Link Christin, Brian Quinn and Abraham Reich.
The CLE was immediately followed by a reception for the judges of the Court of Common Pleas and Municipal Courts, during which a special honor was bestowed upon Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Administrative Judge Matthew D. Carrafiello.

Narberth Community Theatre presented the final weekend of the world premiere run of “A House Divided.”
The full-length musical about the Lincoln family's struggles during their years in the White House was created and co-authored by Michael J. Salmanson, a founding shareholder of Salmanson Goldshaw, who also directs.
The production is the culmination of several years of development of the musical, including staged readings under the auspices of the New Musical Theatre Exchange in Minneapolis and the Bluegrass Opera Co. in Lexington, Kentucky.
Salmanson concentrates his practices in all aspects of employment law.
He has a quarter-century of experience representing employers and employees in employment-related matters and commercial litigation, including cases under the anti-discrimination statutes, Employee Retirement Income Security Act, wage payment and collection statutes, the False Claims Act and other federal, state and local laws.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
