Ann Marie Arcadi and Greg Jackson, two litigators who have worked together since 2013 at a pair of legal giants in Dallas, have opened their own firm.

The duo launched Arcadi Jackson on Aug. 6, after leaving Morgan, Lewis & Bockius' Dallas office three days before. Before joining Morgan Lewis at separate times in 2015, Arcadi and Jackson had been partners at K&L Gates in Dallas.

Arcadi said she and Jackson share the same approach to trying cases and developing long-term client relationships. Jackson said they wanted to start a firm where they could implement that vision.

The two litigators started thinking seriously about leaving Morgan Lewis in the spring, Arcadi said, and talked to a number of firms interested in opening offices in Dallas. But both lawyers ultimately decided to start their own shop instead.

Within the last year, Jackson said a “staggering” number of firms interested in moving into Dallas or expanding in the city contacted him and Arcadi. That volume of contacts comes as Texas—and Dallas in particular—experiences a transformative and highly active market for legal talent.

Jackson said he handles complex commercial disputes for large- and middle-market companies, private equity firms and high-net-worth individuals in the energy, financial services, private equity and real estate sectors. He declined to identify specific clients.

Arcadi said she does the same work as Jackson but also provides labor and employment litigation counsel. Jackson said he and Arcadi both consult with clients on how to avoid litigation connected to potential transactions.

Jackson said that Arcadi Jackson expects to hire some associates in the near future, since the new venture is already quite busy.

In a statement, Morgan Lewis' Dallas office managing partner John Kober wished his former colleagues well.

“We wish them the best and look forward to a continuing relationship with them in their new firm,” Kober said.
