General Michael V. Hayden, former CIA and National Security Agency director, is scheduled to appear at the Center for Ethics and the Rule of Law of the University of Pennsylvania Law School from 5-6:30 p.m. on Sept. 13 to discuss his book, “The Assault on Intelligence: American National Security in an Age of Lies.”

CERL faculty director Claire Finkelstein is set to moderate.

Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young partner Christopher S. Connell served as a panelist at the Association of Corporate Counsel's banking and financial services law CLE on Aug. 7 in Philadelphia.

Connell's panel, “Banking in the 21st Century—Settling Into the Digital Age,” discussed technology-driven changes and the risks and challenges associated with those changes being felt by traditional banking and financial services firms.

Connell co-chairs Stradley Ronon's corporate, securities and mergers and acquisitions practice group.

He focuses his practice on the representation of financial institutions and other corporate clients in a variety of transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, offerings of debt and equity securities (both public and private), initial public offerings and securities matters for public company financial institutions.

He advises financial institutions with respect to various federal and state regulatory and compliance matters and other general corporate law and governance issues.

Elected and Appointed

G. Michael Carr of Eastburn and Gray was appointed a member of the board of directors of Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County.

Carr is an attorney in the firm's real estate, zoning and land use practices.

He handles a broad range of zoning, subdivision and land development matters, including large and small-scale residential and commercial properties, as well as all manners of real estate transactions, real estate-related litigation and partition actions.
