Eastburn and Gray's Michael E. Peters was appointed general counsel to the Pennsylvania State Tax Collector's Association.
The Pennsylvania State Tax Collector's Association is the official professional organization for elected tax collectors throughout Pennsylvania.
In this role, Peters will serve as a resource to the association and its members and will direct the association's legal and legislative efforts to protect the legal rights and status of elected tax collectors.
In addition to his efforts litigating cases on behalf of tax collectors across the state, Peters also represents municipalities in Bucks and Montgomery counties, as well as private commercial and residential clients before zoning hearing boards and municipal governing bodies in land development and zoning matters.

Flager & Associates associate Adam D. Flager was appointed vice president of the board of Libertae Inc., an organization that treats and supports women who suffer from substance abuse disorders.
He is also a member of the quality assurance committee, which handles personnel and policy matters within the organization.
Flager's practice focuses on litigation.
He represents clients primarily in personal injury cases, including motor vehicle, slip-and-fall, defective products and construction/work site accidents.
He also assists with the firm's municipal clients.

McNees Wallace & Nurick paralegal Beth Bell will serve on the YWCA Greater Harrisburg junior board after being elected by the executive committee.
The mission of the YWCA Greater Harrisburg is to eliminate racism, empower women and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.
The role of a junior board member is to mentor and foster those who have a desire to serve the community; and to become familiar with, raise awareness of, and raise funds in support of the mission and operations of the YWCA.
Bell, a Pennsylvania-certified paralegal, assists the McNees Wallace corporate and tax and state and local tax practice groups.
She offers general support, helps to manage cases and oversees document productions.
Bell is on the advisory board at Central Penn College, providing advice to its legal department regarding its degree program, along with insight on the practice of law.

Barley Snyder hired John M. Quain Jr. as its newest attorney.
Quain is an associate in the litigation practice group of the firm and will be based out of its new Harrisburg office.
Prior to joining Barley Snyder, Quain worked as the lead litigator at the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, within the governor's Office of General Counsel.
In his time with the Pennsylvania state government, Quain recovered in excess of 15 million taxpayer dollars through judgments, bankruptcy and settlement agreements.
He also acted as counsel to the coordinator for the city of Harrisburg throughout the city's progression toward financial recovery through the Department of Community and Economic Development.
Quain is a graduate of Rutgers Law School.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The case is 1:24-cv-07594, Roy v. Ittycheria et al.

The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Anita Marie Boor, is 3:24-cv-00630, Secker, Nathan v. Epic Systems Corporation.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
