McNees Wallace & Nurick attorney Susan Bruce took part in the American Wind Energy Association's Future Power Markets Summit on Sept. 5 in Washington, D.C.

Bruce, an energy regulatory attorney with a broad-based regulatory and transactional energy practice, participated on the capacity markets panel.

It was one of many panels at the event bringing together state and federal energy officials, and market design experts to discuss what needs to evolve in the nation's power markets over the next five-10 years.

Bruce is a member of the McNees Wallace energy and environmental practice group, where she primarily represents commercial, institutional, industrial and municipal customers in electric and natural gas matters.

She also advises clients on matters involving renewable energy, including project development and resource portfolio standard policy.

She has experience in wholesale stakeholder processes as well as before state regulatory agencies, legislatures and appellate courts as well as the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

Elected and Appointed

Loren L. Speziale, a partner with Gross McGinley, was appointed president of the board of directors for Women's Resources of Monroe County.

She has served the organization for the past five years as a board member as well as a member of the gala committee and 5K committee.

Women's Resources of Monroe County is a nonprofit, community-based agency that provides a safe and caring environment that encourages healing and empowerment for anyone whose life has been impacted by domestic and sexual violence.

Speziale counsels small to midsize businesses on employment and corporate matters including workplace issues, policies and procedures, contracts, business structure, sales and acquisitions, and commercial real estate.

She also works with financial institutions on commercial loan transactions and assists private equity firms with the acquisition and handling of distressed loans, from performing the up-front due diligence through acquisition and strategic resolutions.
