A pair of state legislators has suggested all courts in Pennsylvania should be required to provide a secure waiting area for victims and witnesses.

Reps. Stephen Kinsey, D-Philadelphia, and Greg Rothman, R-Cumberland, issued a joint memo announcing their plan to introduce a package of bills to prohibit victim and witness intimidation in Pennsylvania courthouses.

In the memo, Kinsey and Rothman wrote that state law should also be amended to allow the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency to annually inspect all courts to ensure compliance with their proposed legislation.

The legislation was recommended from the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office, according to the representatives' memo.
