Charny, Karpousis, Altieri & Donoian partner Nicole Donoian-Pody is a scheduled speaker at the Camden County Bar Association continuing legal education program on legal ethics and fee arbitration taking place Oct. 2 at Tavistock Country Club in Haddonfield, New Jersey.
The panel is set to present topics including applicable Rules of Professional Conduct and court rules, proper responses to ethics and fee arbitration complaints and effective hearing participation to avoid disciplinary actions or legal fee reductions.
As a two-term member of the District IV fee arbitration panel, Donoian-Pody will discuss proper billing techniques, important considerations when responding to fee arbitration complaints, information to provide during a fee arbitration hearing and she will provide her insight as to a fee arbitration panel's decision-making process.
Donoian-Pody has 17 years of experience in all aspects of family and matrimonial law, including alimony, child support, child custody, parenting time, grandparents' rights, division of assets and prenuptial agreements.
A particular focus of her practice includes complex divorce matters involving unique issues, substantial marital estates and business valuations.

Eastburn and Gray attorney Joan R. Price presented a continuing education seminar to the southeast chapter of the Assessors' Association of Pennsylvania on real estate litigation at the Indian Valley Country Club in Telford.
The program wass intended to keep assessors up-to-date regarding any recent court decisions and changes to the assessment law that affects daily assessment activities.
Price represents clients in litigation involving real estate valuation, exemption and uniformity issues as well as issues involving preferential assessments.
A good portion of her practice has a particular emphasis on counseling nonprofit entities on how to obtain a real estate tax exemption.
She also counsels counties on questions related to countywide reassessment and assessment administration issues.

In a free lunch seminar, McAndrews Law Offices is set to discuss the circumstances when financial professionals best serve their clients and their practices by referring a client for consultation with an attorney, and when legal assistance is either necessary or wise.
The seminar is scheduled at noon Oct. 1 in the firm's Berwyn office.

Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young partner Michael J. Engle was appointed chair of the firm's pro bono committee, which focuses on providing legal services to people and community organizations who could otherwise not afford access to legal representation.
Under Engle's leadership, the pro bono committee works to develop, identify and approve projects for firm representation.
Engle, a member of Stradley Ronon's education practice group, and the chair of the firm's white-collar defense group and pro bono committee, has more than 15 years of experience in federal criminal cases, complex white-collar defense matters, and internal or parallel investigations on behalf of corporations and other entities.
He has represented white-collar defendants in complex, high-stakes federal and state prosecutions and has guided corporations and other organizations through the intricacies of government investigations.
In recent years, Engle has developed a niche practice of defending against civil and/or criminal allegations relating to hazing conduct.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
