Joseph F. Kessler, a Dilworth Paxson partner and chair of the firm's real estate practice group is a scheduled panelist at the “Looming Changes in Accounting for Leases” event on Oct. 23.

He will provide the legal perspective on the subject.

Additional panelists will provide the accounting and banking perspective.

Kessler represents contractors, real estate developers, REITs, middle-market companies, public authorities, family owned businesses and nonprofit corporations in matters of corporate governance, development, financing, construction, leasing, and sales of commercial real estate.

McNees Wallace & Nurick attorneys Kathleen Bruder and Kathy Pape are slated to present a webinar for the Pennsylvania Society of Tax and Accounting Professionals at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The webinar, “The Calm Before the Storm: The 2018/2019 Budget,” is approved for a continuing professional education credit.

The presentation will provide an overview of the state's current fiscal year budget that was approved in June along with updates on pending legislation that will be of interest to tax and accounting professionals.

Bruder is a member of the firm's government relations, energy and environmental, public sector, oil and natural gas, pipeline and oil/gas infrastructure, and state and local tax practice groups.

Pape practices in McNees Wallace's government relations, public finance, financial services and public sector groups.

Additions

Chartwell Law added general liability attorney Darcy Resch to the firm's Philadelphia office.

Resch concentrates her practice on general liability matters, including motor vehicle, slip and fall, products liability and dog bite cases.

She handles pretrial discovery and assists clients in depositions.

Resch has also aided in matters leading into arbitration, as well as being a part of case management conferences.

Prior to joining the firm, Resch served as a judicial clerk to New Jersey Superior Court Judge Christine Smith.

Cecelia L. Fanelli joined Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott in its hospitality group.

Fanelli will split her time between the firm's White Plains, New York, and Philadelphia offices.

She has more than 30 years of experience in litigation, dispute resolution, arbitration, mediation and alternative dispute resolution proceedings in the hotel, real estate and banking industries.

Fanelli represents domestic and international developers, builders, owners, and operators of hotels and resorts, as well as lenders, franchisees and franchisors.

She joined Eckert Seamans from Steptoe & Johnson LLP.
