Emily E. Town joined Rothman Gordon.

Town represents employees in employment law claims, including discrimination claims, wage-and-hour claims, unemployment compensation, whistleblower and breach of contract claims. She formerly worked as a judicial law clerk to U.S. District Judge Arthur J. Schwab of the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Town has also been an adjunct professor for the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Unemployment Compensation Practicum.

She is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA), and the Western Pennsylvania Employment Lawyers Association (WPELA).

Speakers

Chartwell Law Offices partners Jason Hanford and Jaclyn A. Vottero led a discussion with representatives from large employers on medical marijuana, which is now being sold to patients in Pennsylvania.

The discussion focused on access to medical marijuana in Pennsylvania and how Pennsylvania employers are impacted by medical marijuana use by their employees.

Hanford is a partner in Chartwell Law's Valley Forge office.

She focuses his practice on workers' compensation, employment and labor law, government contract claims and general litigation.

Vottero, also a partner Chartwell Law's Valley Forge office, focuses her practice on workers' compensation and heart and lung subrogation.

Galfand Berger attorney Gabriela Raful was keynote speaker at a new citizen naturalization ceremony, sponsored by the Berks County Bar Association on Sept. 26.

Raful is a partner at Galfand Berger, where she represents injured clients in the areas of workers' compensation, personal injury, products liability and social security disability. She earned her Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law.

She practices law in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Raful is active with the Berks County Bar Association, where she sits on the board of directors and serves as chair of the minority law section.

In 2017, the Berks County Bar Association awarded Raful its Presidential Award of Merit.
