|Jordan Schlossberg, partner at Astor Weiss Kaplan & Mandel, is set to serve as the YLD liaison at a presentation by the Young Lawyers Division of the Philadelphia Bar Association.
The presentation, “Bootcamp: Tactics, Tips and Tricks for Law Students and New Lawyers,” is scheduled from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday.
Schlossberg focuses his practice on personal injury, commercial and estate litigation. He is a licensed member of the bar in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey and is admitted to practice in the federal courts for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the District of New Jersey as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Amanda J. Dougherty of Klehr Harrison Harvey Branzburg presented “Philadelphia Real Estate Taxes” at the Philadelphia Bar Association's annual Bench Bar Conference sponsored by the Young Lawyers Division in October.
Dougherty is an associate in Klehr Harrison's litigation department.
She has experience litigating a variety of cases, including multimillion-dollar real estate matters, simple business and insurance cases, and consumer protection actions.
A former prosecutor, Dougherty also worked with the City of Philadelphia Tax Unit on Philadelphia tax and real estate issues, including tax assessment appeals, tax lien sales, judgment execution, and Philadelphia business and net profits lawsuits.

Butler Buchanan III of Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin was a featured speaker at the Perrin Conferences' annual Diversity and Inclusion in the Legal Industry Conference on Nov. 1 at the Union League of Philadelphia.
Buchanan discussed “Insights on Diversity in the Legal Community—The Law Firm Perspective.” Buchanan, who serves as managing attorney of Marshall Dennehey's Philadelphia headquarters office, is chair of the diversity committee and the firm's hiring attorney.
He joined the firm in 1999 and has served two terms on the firm's board of directors. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel, the Pennsylvania Defense Institute and the Defense Research Institute.

The Duane Morris Women's Impact Network for Success (WINS) honored two attorneys for their efforts to advance women in the legal profession.
Valentine A. Brown, a partner in the firm's Philadelphia office, received the Cheryl Bryson Leadership Award.
Jennifer Briggs Fisher, a partner in the firm's San Francisco office, received the Margery Reed Professional Excellence Award.
Brown and Fisher received the awards at a ceremony at Duane Morris' annual firmwide meeting on Oct. 20.
Brown was selected for being an advocate and mentor to women at Duane Morris and beyond. Since 2015, she has led the firm's all-female pro bono team that has more than doubled Duane Morris' pro bono performance metrics.
She is a partner in the firm's employment, labor, benefits and immigration practice group and is the firm's pro bono partner.
She serves as global immigration law counsel to multinational and domestic corporations and their employees, providing advice, compliance audits and representation to help navigate the intricacies of U.S. and foreign immigration laws.
Brown also represents individuals in all types of immigration proceedings, including persons of extraordinary ability; spouses, fiancées and children of U.S. citizens; naturalization and political asylum applicants; as well as respondents in deportation and immigration appellate proceedings.

Driscoll from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr have stepped in to represent Symbotic Inc., an A.I.-enabled technology platform that focuses on increasing supply chain efficiency, and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
