J. Philip Kirchner, shareholder at Flaster Greenberg, was honored by the Litigation Counsel of America with the Peter Perlman Service Award.
The award was presented to Kirchner by G. Steven Henry, LCA executive director and general counsel, at the 2018 Fall Conference & Celebration of Fellows held on Oct. 24-26 at Gurney's Newport Resort & Marina in Newport, Rhode Island.
The award recognizes LCA fellows who contribute in meaningful ways to society by giving back their time and resources in an effort to improve the lives of others.
Kirchner serves as a member of the board of directors of Mary's Fund, a charity formed after the death of Mary Joy Sherlach, a school psychologist at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, that raises money for mental health programs for children and adolescents.

Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young partner Andrew K. Stutzman served as a panelist at the annual Consumer Financial Services Conference of the Conference on Consumer Finance Law (CCFL) on Nov. 6 in Fort Worth, Texas.
The conference is an annual CLE conference sponsored by the Texas A&M University School of Law intended to address issues of current interest in consumer finance.
The CCFL is governed by a committee composed of lawyers from around the nation that specialize in those issues.
Stutzman's panel considered topics relating to the “Latest Developments in Mortgage Litigation and Compliance.”
Stutzman is a Philadelphia trial lawyer who founded the financial services litigation practice at Stradley Ronon.
He resolves complex disputes through litigation, especially finance-related matters. Stutzman has tried civil cases of diverse subject matters in many state, federal and ADR courts throughout his career and assisted in the defense of government investigations and criminal proceedings.

McAndrews Law Offices announced the opening of a newly expanded Philadelphia office.
The location will provide a more local option and access for its Philadelphia and surrounding suburban client base.
Kim Caputo will be the lead attorney in the Philadelphia office, where she will concentrate her work in representing Philadelphia-area students and families in special education matters.
Caputo recently joined McAndrews Law Offices after serving for 26 years in the Office of General Counsel for the Philadelphia School District.
The Philadelphia location will also be supported by Jennifer Grobe, who concentrates her practice on special education and school discipline. In addition to special education matters, the firm's clients in estate planning, special needs planning, elder law, and abuse matters will also be served in the Philadelphia office.
The new expanded Philadelphia office is located at 1528 Walnut St., Suite 702, Philadelphia, 19102.

Driscoll from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr have stepped in to represent Symbotic Inc., an A.I.-enabled technology platform that focuses on increasing supply chain efficiency, and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The case is 1:24-cv-07594, Roy v. Ittycheria et al.

Amy O. Bruchs and Kurt F. Ellison of Michael Best & Friedrich have entered appearances for Epic Systems Corp. in a pending employment discrimination lawsuit. The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Anita Marie Boor, is 3:24-cv-00630, Secker, Nathan v. Epic Systems Corporation.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
