Additions

Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoads announced the addition of two associates to the firm's Philadelphia office.

Kelly K. Huff and Robert E. Day joined the litigation department.

Huff focuses her practice on the banking, financial services, health care and insurance industries.

She has experience advising corporate clients on contract disputes, the prosecution and defense of claims under the Uniform Commercial Code, lender liability, subpoena responses and litigating class actions.

Huff also counsels companies on compliance with consumer protection statutes, state and federal employment laws, employee benefits issues, and health care reform requirements. Before joining Montgomery McCracken, Day was a law clerk to Judge Edith Clement of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

He also served as a law clerk for Judge Mitchel Ostrer of the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division, and for Judge Mary C. Jacobson of the New Jersey Vicinage 7 Superior Court. Day earned his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law.

Speakers

Sean P. O'Mahoney of Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton & Newby was a speaker at the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Society's Patient Safety and Risk Management Conference on Nov. 17. The full-day program took place at the Chubb Conference Center in Lafayette Hill.

O'Mahoney presented a workshop titled “Psychiatric Malpractice: Practical Strategies for Risk Management.”

He spoke about the Mental Health Procedures Act, preserving electronic medical records, the dos and don'ts surrounding psychiatric malpractice, documentation protocols, and tips to follow when evaluating suicidal ideation and homicidal ideation.

O'Mahoney concentrates his practice on defending clients in psychiatric/medical malpractice and professional negligence matters.

His practice also focuses on the defense of sexual abuse and assault cases, as well as civil rights and municipal liability matters.
