That those two milestones have coincided is noteworthy. As the oldest law journal in the United States, The Legal has chronicled nearly two centuries of changes to the legal profession, but in all that time there arguably has been no more transformative a period than the past 10 years.

If the first 165 years of The Legal's existence were spent observing the gradual evolution of the profession as it unfolded, the last 10 have felt like watching a time-lapse video of that evolution: momentous, irreversible changes occurring in rapid succession and condensed into a relatively short time frame.
