A Philadelphia litigator is back at his former law firm, Post & Schell, after spending over a decade in-house in the insurance industry.

Glenn Campbell has rejoined the Philadelphia-based regional firm as a principal in the casualty litigation department, after a stint at The Travelers Companies Inc. He said he expects Travelers to be a client as he rejoins the firm, and he hopes to continue relationships with other carriers he worked with while in private practice.

Campbell started his career at Post & Schell in 1988 and spent 17 years there previously. During his time away from the firm, he was a senior attorney at Travelers, overseeing major and catastrophic loss, construction injury and products liability litigation.

His time at Travelers, Campbell said, “gave me the opportunity to see how the claim side works more than you would on the outside. I have a significantly better understanding of what the insurance companies need from their panel counsel.”

He said he wanted to return to private practice to spend more time practicing law, rather than attending to the procedural duties of working in-house.

“His insight from his time as an in-house attorney and overall background in litigating cases involving catastrophic losses and complex fact-patterns will be invaluable to our clients, as well as our casualty group as it continues to grow,” Post & Schell CEO A. James Johnston said in a statement.

Post & Schell has 143 lawyers, according to its website, spread across offices in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, Allentown and Lancaster in Pennsylvania, as well as Washington, D.C., and Princeton, New Jersey.
