Attorneys and staff from Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young's Malvern office adopted 15 foster children from Valley Youth House, providing them with clothing, shoes and gift cards for the holidays. The donations fulfilled the wish lists of the young adults, along with extra gifts. Valley Youth House provides housing to children and young adults who are in the foster care system and have no family support.

Speakers

Flaster/Greenberg shareholder William J. Burnett is scheduled to serve as a panelist at the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Conference 30th annual forum Jan. 24 at the Borgata in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The panel, “60 in 90,” will address 60 important bankruptcy law cases in 90 minutes. Burnett will speak alongside other prominent financial restructuring and bankruptcy lawyers and professionals.

Burnett is a shareholder in the firm's bankruptcy, financial structuring and risk management and business and corporate law practice groups as well as the firm's pharmaceutical industry group. He concentrates his practice in bankruptcy, reorganizations and workouts. He represents clients in all areas of Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, creditor's rights and corporate liquidations.

In addition, he counsels debtors on the advantages and disadvantages of Chapter 11 and the rights and remedies of creditors and unsecured creditors' committees in the Chapter 11 process.

He assists financially distressed companies, creditors' committees, trustees, plan administrators, secured and unsecured creditors, Chapter 7 trustees, Chapter 11 debtors-in-possession, landlords, equipment lessors, asset purchasers and preference plaintiffs and defendants.

The Eastern District of Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Conference is a nonprofit organization formed in 1988 to promote the education and interests of its members and the citizens of Pennsylvania residing in the ten counties within the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Members include lawyers, other professionals and paraprofessionals who specialize in the practice of bankruptcy and creditors' rights law in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Elected and Appointed

Dugan Brinkmann Maginnis and Pace announced the election of Jacqueline Y. Cassidy to partnership in the firm.

Cassidy handles cases in the fields of insurance subrogation and defense. She represents property and casualty insurers on a national and regional basis in matters concerning complex commercial and residential property losses involving fire, water, negligent construction and product defect.
