Klehr Harrison Harvey Branzburg elected Matthew J. McDonald and Lee D. Moylan to the firm's partnership. Both McDonald and Moylan are members of the labor and employment group in the firm's litigation department. Moylan also was named the firm's first recruitment chair. McDonald represents employers and businesses in a wide range of industries, including financial services, technology, real estate, regulatory compliance, international importing and manufacturing.
He litigates disputes concerning noncompetition agreements, trade secrets, compensation, breaches of contract, defamation and fraud. McDonald also defends discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims.
Moylan represents employers in a variety of industries. She advises clients on matters related to workforce reductions, unemployment compensation, workplace policies, decisions related to hiring, discipline and terminating of employees, employer obligations to provide reasonable accommodations and protected leaves, the interplay between short-term disability policies and leave laws, and the terms of severance and separation agreements.
Moylan also defends employers against claims brought under Title VII, ADEA, FMLA, ADA, PHRA, the state whistleblower statute and the Philadelphia Fair Practices Ordinance. Moylan represents classes of employees who have been terminated in connection with plant closing and/or mass layoffs without advanced notice as required under the Workers Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.

Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young announced that Joel D. Corriero, Caroline C. Gorman and Kristin J. Jones were elected to the firm's partnership.
Corriero, resident in the firm's Philadelphia office, counsels investment companies, including exchange-traded funds, mutual funds, variable insurance funds and closed-end funds and investment advisers on regulatory and compliance matters.
For investment companies, particularly ETFs, he advises on all aspects of the representation, including creation, listing and continued compliance with both the federal securities laws and exchange listing rules.
Corriero is also experienced in the negotiation of authorized participant agreements for transactions in ETF shares.
Also based in Stradley Ronon's Philadelphia office, Gorman focuses her practice on public finance and on all aspects of secured and unsecured financing, including construction and real estate loans, health care financing, acquisition financing and asset-based financing. She represents clients as bond counsel and underwriter's counsel related to tax-exempt financing for 501(c)(3) entities, governmental units and other entities. Gorman's practice involves structuring and completing project financings for the construction of major infrastructure improvements for nonprofit institutions.
Jones, resident in the firm's Malvern office, provides regulatory, compliance and reimbursement counsel to health care providers (including hospitals, health systems and physician practices) and insurers.
She counsels clients who operate in a highly regulated environment and provides practical advice about complex regulatory schemes.
Jones advises clients on government-funded insurance programs, federal and state health information privacy and security laws, licensing laws and regulatory strategies.
Speakers
Duane Morris partners Christiane Schuman Campbell and Aliza R. Karetnick are set to participate in Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law's fifth annual Fashion Law Symposium, “Working Together: Understanding the Different Players in the Fashion Game.”
Karetnick is scheduled to moderate the panel, “Outside Counsel: How do I protect my IP?” and Campbell will be a panelist for that discussion.
The symposium will take place Feb. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Laurence E. Hirsch Classroom of the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The case is 1:24-cv-07594, Roy v. Ittycheria et al.

Amy O. Bruchs and Kurt F. Ellison of Michael Best & Friedrich have entered appearances for Epic Systems Corp. in a pending employment discrimination lawsuit. The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Anita Marie Boor, is 3:24-cv-00630, Secker, Nathan v. Epic Systems Corporation.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
