Stevens & Lee announced that James B. MacDonald joined the firm and will co-chair the technology, telecommunications and life sciences group with Richard J. Pinto.

MacDonald concentrates his practice on development, commercialization and transfer of intellectual property and technology.

He counsels clients on technology and IP licensing, outsourcing, M&A-related IP and tech transactions and privacy and data security.

He also advises on the formation, operation and governance of joint venture, strategic alliance and other collaborative development and integration projects.

Stevens & Lee's technology practice serves clients in the technology, telecommunications and life sciences sectors, as well as industry-focused guidance on technology and related issues to clients in diverse industry segments.

MacDonald received his J.D. from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. He is based in the firm's Valley Forge office.

Capehart Scatchard announced that seven attorneys were admitted as shareholders to the firm.

The new shareholders at Capehart Scatchard are Dana M. Gayeski, Katherine Hellander Geist, Michael C. Rose and Adam Segal in the workers' compensation department; Lauren E. Tedesco-Dallas in the education and employment and employment and labor departments; and Voris M. Tejada, Jr. and Benjamin H. Zieman in the litigation department.

Elected and Appointed

Curtin & Heefner announce the promotion of James J. Esposito to partner.

Esposito is a member of the firm's real estate and public sector law groups.

He has experience representing financial institutions, municipalities, individuals and businesses in all aspects of real estate transactions, real estate financing, municipal law, land use and zoning matters.

Esposito currently serves on the board of directors of Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County, and he is also a member of the alumni board of Holy Ghost Preparatory School.

Events

At the 2019 Villanova Environmental Law Journal Blank Rome Symposium, representatives from private practice, government agencies and nonprofit organizations will discuss strategies they use to manage regulatory uncertainty and transition for their clients.

The symposium is scheduled for Feb. 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Laurence E. Hirsch '71 Classroom (Room 101) of the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. This program is approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education board for 3.5 substantive CLE credits.
