Kolsby Gordon announced the addition of Sarah O. Schindler to its medical malpractice and personal injury practice.
Schindler represents plaintiffs across the country in complex litigation in matters ranging from products liability to FLSA wage and hour class actions and antitrust claims.
She also previously served as a law clerk to Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge Arnold L. New in Philadelphia's mass tort program.
Schindler is licensed in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey and received her degree from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law.
She is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, Philadelphia Trial Lawyers, Philadelphia Association for Justice, American Association for Justice, and the Louis D. Brandeis Law Society.

At the 2019 Villanova Environmental Law Journal Blank Rome Symposium, representatives from private practice, government agencies and nonprofit organizations will discuss strategies they use to manage regulatory uncertainty and transition for their clients.
The symposium is scheduled for Feb. 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Laurence E. Hirsch '71 Classroom (Room 101) of the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. This program is approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education board for 3.5 substantive CLE credits.

The AJC Judge Learned Hand Award is presented annually to a leading figure in the legal community for excellence in the field and service to the community.
Named for the jurist who authored over 2,000 legal opinions, mostly relating to the rights of the individual, the award recognizes individuals who have made a lasting impact.
The award for 2019 is being presented to Dilworth Paxson chairman and CEO Ajay Raju.
Raju is being honored for his body of work on behalf of the Philadelphia community through his leadership and support for youth, the arts and journalism through the Germination Project, The Philadelphia Citizen, Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Philadelphia Orchestra and others.
AJC is a global Jewish advocacy organization. Locally AJC sponsors the Latino-Jewish Coalition, Muslim-Jewish Circle of Friends, Bucks County Christian Coalition and was a founder of the Institute for Jewish-Catholic Relations at St. Joseph University.

Nicholas E.Chimicles, founder and senior partner of Chimicles & Tikellis, announced that as the law firm celebrated its 25th anniversary its name was changed to reflect the retirement of former name partner Pamela Tikellis and the greater leadership role of senior partners Kimberly M. Donaldson-Smith, Robert J. Kriner and Steven A. Schwartz.
The firm, which will now be known as Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith, will continue to operate from its offices in Haverford and Wilmington, Delaware, specializing in prosecuting high-impact cases that protect the rights of investors and consumers.
Those cases arise in many contexts including product and service defects, health care, insurance, employee and pension benefits, and shareholders being victimized by corporate management.
Chimicles will continue to be the chair of the firm's executive committee and indicated that he has no plans to retire in the foreseeable future and remains engaged in all case matters.

Driscoll from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr have stepped in to represent Symbotic Inc., an A.I.-enabled technology platform that focuses on increasing supply chain efficiency, and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The case is 1:24-cv-07594, Roy v. Ittycheria et al.

Amy O. Bruchs and Kurt F. Ellison of Michael Best & Friedrich have entered appearances for Epic Systems Corp. in a pending employment discrimination lawsuit. The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Anita Marie Boor, is 3:24-cv-00630, Secker, Nathan v. Epic Systems Corporation.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
