Daniel E. Pierson joined Pond Lehocky Stern Giordano as an associate out of the firm's Pittsburgh office. He concentrates his practice in workers' compensation.
Prior to joining Pond Lehocky, Pierson practiced workers' compensation law at two large regional defense firms, where he handled all aspects of claims from beginning to conclusion.
He has litigated claims across Pennsylvania and has extensive experience at hearings, depositions, mediations and before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board.
Switching to claimants' work, Pierson brings with him knowledge of how insurance companies handle workers' compensation claims.
Elected and Appointed
Clark Hill announced the promotion of 11 senior attorneys and five senior counsel to membership in the firm, as well as the promotion of 18 associates to senior attorney.
One of the new members and two of the senior attorney promotions are based in Pennsylvania.
Mario Bordogna, who works from Clark Hill's offices in both Pittsburgh and Morgantown, West Virginia, is a member of the labor and employment practice.
He focuses both on keeping clients in compliance with labor and employment laws and on assisting them when they require an experienced litigation advocate.
The new senior attorneys are Scott Galla in the insurance/reinsurance practice and Stacey Schor in the labor and employment practice. Both Schor and Galla are based in the firm's Philadelphia office.

Gawthrop Greenwood was appointed solicitor of Tredyffrin Township.
Gawthrop Greenwood has more than a century of experience serving as solicitors for government entities. Most recently, the law firm advised Tredyffrin Township and the Tredyffrin Township Municipal Authority with closing a $28.3 million deal with the sale of a portion of the Authority's sewer line, known as the Valley Creek Trunk Sewer system, to Aqua Resources, Inc.
Lead solicitor and Gawthrop Greenwood partner Patrick M. McKenna's team includes attorneys Stacey L. Fuller and Anthony T. Verwey, who lead the firm's government and education law department, providing legal counsel to cities, townships, boroughs, police departments, planning commissions, municipal authorities and zoning hearing boards.
The firm advocates at government meetings; advises elected boards on governance, open records and other issues; litigates municipal, school, land development and zoning matters through appeal; and drafts legislative and policy documents for municipal governments.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The case is 1:24-cv-07594, Roy v. Ittycheria et al.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
