An open letter released in January by 170 general counsel pushed outside counsel to improve their diversity. For encouragement, they said they will prioritize their legal spend with firms that demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion. In response, a Big Law partner voiced frustration with the open-letter approach and said a true commitment will produce immediate results.
Our latest reader poll covers your perceptions of the industry's diversity challenges. Is your law firm or organization doing enough to promote diversity and inclusion? Is the focus more window-dressing than reality? And what strategies are working to improve diversity in the workplace? As always, we welcome your participation, and your answers are anonymous, unless you would like to provide contact information for a follow-up interview.
