Cozen O'Connor has named Melissa Brill to the role of co-chair of the firm's Global Insurance Department.

Brill is joining Joseph Ziemianski as co-chair and will sit on the firm's management committee and board of directors.

Brill has been an attorney at the firm for more than 20 years, where she represents professional liability, property, and general liability insurers in complex insurance coverage litigation throughout the country.

“We are very excited to have Melissa co-lead our Global Insurance Department,” said Michael Heller, Cozen O'Connor's executive chairperson and chief executive officer.

Ziemianski added, “I look forward to working with Melissa to grow the department and ensure the continued highest level of representation of the top insurers.”

Brill's pro bono representations include enforcing women's rights under the Violence Against Women Act, seeking asylum in the United States on behalf of unaccompanied minors, and obtaining reparations for Holocaust victims.

Brill received her B.A. from Pennsylvania State University in 1991 and her law degree, with honors, from Temple University School of Law in 1995.
