Saxton & Stump announced that Jeffrey C. Bright, founder of Bright Law Firm, merged his practice with Saxton & Stump. Bright Law Firm was established in 2017 as a boutique firm focused on the construction industry.
Bright focuses his practice on construction matters, civil litigation, employment law and real estate development and disputes. He litigated cases in federal and state courts as well as in front of administrative agencies. The majority of his litigation pertains to construction disputes, including breach of contract, mechanics' lien claims, bond claims, matters under the Board of Claims' jurisdiction, and claims under the Contractor and Subcontractor Payment Act and Prompt Payment Acts.

Robert Peirce & Associates announced the hiring of five associate attorneys: Margaret Cooney, Allison Greene, Cynthia Howell, Adam Murdock and Sara Watkins.
Cooney graduated from Duquesne University School of Law. Prior to joining the firm, Cooney was a research assistant at Duquesne University and completed an internship with the Office of the Allegheny County Public Defender in the trial division.
Greene graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law. Prior to joining the firm, Green worked for the Allegheny County District Attorney's office and the Wake Forest Innocence and Justice Clinic.
Howell began her career at Robert Peirce & Associates as a law clerk. She graduated from Duquesne University School of Law. Prior to joining the firm, Howell was the judicial intern for U.S. District Judge Terrence F. McVerry for the Western District of Pennsylvania. She also worked as a compliance officer for both PNC Bank and Ohio Valley General Hospital.
Murdock graduated from University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Prior to joining the firm, he was a legal intern and law clerk with the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
Watkins graduated from Duquesne University School of La. Prior to joining the firm, Watkins was a legal intern with the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office and a judicial intern with the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania.

McNees Wallace & Nurick attorney Eric Athey was elected to the board of directors of the Central Penn Business Group on Health for a two-year term.
The Central Penn Business Group on Health works to promote continuous improvements in the quality and cost of health care for its member companies, their employees and dependents. Its goal is to promote a collaborative dialogue among stakeholders to preserve the quality of care while also keeping health care affordable.
Athey is co-chair of the McNees labor and employment practice group where he provides counseling and representation to employers on a wide range of labor and employment matters. He helps unionized and nonunion clients navigate situations involving allegations of discrimination and harassment, as well as labor negotiations and arbitrations, employment contracts and employment policy development.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Anita Marie Boor, is 3:24-cv-00630, Secker, Nathan v. Epic Systems Corporation.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
